Our Story
Hi, I’m Michael Kummer!
I started MK Supplements with support from my family in 2021, with the goal of offering the highest-quality dietary supplements on the market.
As a blogger and healthy-living enthusiast, I’ve tried and reviewed supplements from dozens of brands — many of which I’ve recommended to my friends and followers.
But I’m a perfectionist, and I don’t like making compromises when it comes to my health (or the health of my family and readers).
That’s why I decided to develop my own supplements: to make sure that both the quality of the ingredients and the type of packaging used meet my exact specifications.
Our first product is what I consider nature’s ultimate multivitamin: grass-fed beef liver supplements made from 100% pasture-raised New Zealand cattle.
To turn fresh liver into capsules, we use a gentle freeze-drying method that’s free from the harsh chemicals utilized by other brands.
Plus, we’re committed to regenerative and eco-friendly manufacturing. Our supplements come in sustainable, non-toxic packaging made from glass or recycled paper (which is better for you and better for the environment).
We believe that our organ meat supplements can help you and your family optimize your health and live a long, active life.
Meet Michael and Kathy
We’re Michael and Kathy Kummer, the husband-and-wife team behind MK Supplements, the Kummer Homestead project, and the widely read lifestyle blog MichaelKummer.com.
Michael was born and raised in Austria and relocated to the United States in 2007.
Since moving to the U.S., Michael has lived and worked in the greater Atlanta area as an executive in the IT field. In his 20s, he was a professional 100-meter sprinter and spent three years in the Austrian armed forces.
Michael launched his blog in 2012, where he writes about the intersection of health, fitness and technology. His work has been read by over 5.5 million people.
Kathy was born in Costa Rica and came to the United States in 2008 as an au pair. At the end of her nearly two-year tenure — and right when she was about to return to Costa Rica to pursue her studies in criminology — she met Michael and they got married less than a year later.
We’re proud parents of two trilingual children, Isabella and Lucas. When Isabella was born in 2013, Kathy decided to become a stay-at-home mom and focus her energy on providing an environment her family could thrive in.
Around that time, we started transitioning away from the Standard American Diet by cutting out all added sugars. Later, we transitioned to a paleo diet, then keto, and then finally to an animal-based diet.
When not working on our suburban homestead (taking care of our beehives and chickens), you can find us at our local CrossFit box.
